The early 70s saw a huge increase in the percentage of overseas Filipino workers especially in manning shipping and oil mining industries. This is not without good reason. Filipinos are honest, competent and hard-working. Furthermore, having an adequate to excellent command of the English language with an inherently happy and positive nature making them easy to train, manage and work with. It is with this migration labor boon and inherent Filipino values that two veteran Filipino ship captains thought of establishing a ship manning agency deploying mainly Filipino workers.
Today, PACIFIC SEAMEN SERVICES, INC. is at the helm of the manpower industry, internationally recognized as a premiere workforce and services provider that supplies qualified and dependable personnel for both sea-based and land-based job categories for a diverse range of international principals. It maintains a pool of highly qualified ship officers, and engineers for special purpose and conventional vessels, as well as personnel for offshore oil drilling rigs, production platforms, offshore construction barges and onshore fabrication and repair yards.
Through the years, PACSEA has been continually distinguished and awarded for its exemplary performance and its significant contributions in the areas of deployment by the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA) stemming from its commitment in providing jobs for many Filipinos and as top Foreign Exchange Earner from non-trade transactions by the Central Bank of the Philippines (CB) for contributing to the revenues of the country.
Adhering to world class business standards, on 23 September, 1999, PSSI was accredited by ABS Quality Evaluations, Inc. under the ISO 9002: 1994 and converted to ISO 9001: 2000 on 28 October, 2002 then elevated to ISO 9001: 2008 Quality Management System.
