Pacific Seamen Services Incorporated values your privacy and is committed to the lawful processing of your data. This is done so in accordance with the Data Privacy Act of 2012 (R.A. 10173). The following are to discuss the types of information we collect, how we gather data from you, purpose of processing, entities the data may be shared with, and how long will your data stay with us:

Personal Data Gathered

  1. Basic personal information such as your name, address, birthdate and birthplace
  2. Government ID details (Philhealth, Pag-ibig, TIN, etc.)
  3. Images via CCTV which can be found inside our office premises
  4. Signatures
  5. Educational background
  6. Contact details such as mobile and/or telephone number, email
  7. Philippine issued travel documents (Passport, VISA, Seaman’s book, OWWA, etc.)

How we gather data from you

The submission of forms in the likes of application forms or any other form/s concerning our services – Entering agreements or the provision of documentations and/or information in respect of your transactions with us – Interaction with our personnel, including documentation officers, reception, and accounting department. This can be done through phone calls, letters, fax, face-to-face meetings, instant messaging applications, and emails – When we receive your personal data from third parties in connection with the services we provide (medical results, training certificates, licences, etc.) – From any authorized investigation, litigation, or inquiry which may relate to you or any connected person

Purpose for Collecting Data

To conduct our everyday business purpose of providing Filipino personnel together with their official and legal travel documents for deployment of our clients and principals – To comply with the laws of the Philippines such as the Department of Migrant Workers and Maritime Industry Authority and applicable foreign jurisdiction – Compliance to local or foreign authorities including regulatory, governmental, tax and law enforcement – The handling and processing of your queries, requests, feedback, suggestions and complaints – For the purpose of prevention and addressing of crime as well as the management of the safety and security of our premises and services (including but not limited to the authorization of security clearances and conducting CCTV surveillance)

How we may share your data

To verify your personal information – To comply with the requirements of our clients and/or principals – To comply with legal requirements – To address fraud, security or technical issues, to respond to an emergency or otherwise protect the rights, property or security of our customers or third parties

How long your data may stay with us

Your data will remain with us for as long as 5 years in case there is a need to recall you for either of the purposes stated in this privacy notice. When 5 years have passed and we have no ongoing legitimate business or legal need to process your data, and you are no longer affiliated with Pacific Seamen Services Incorporated, data acquired from you, in all manners and forms, will be permanently deleted.

Your Rights

Under the Data Privacy Act, you have the following rights: 1. Right to be informed 2. Right to object 3. Right to access 4. Right to rectify or correct erroneous data 5. Right to erase or block 6. Right to secure data portability 7. Right to be indemnified for damages 8. Right to file a complaint
